BFGoodrich Tires Partners with “Chasing Baja” Documentary for the 40th Annual SCORE Baja 1000

Off-road racing's oldest and most prestigious event, the SCORe Baja 1000, celebrates 40 years of racing in 2007. To commemorate this milestone, the producer of "Rides" and "Overhaulin'," have collaborated with BFGoodrich^® Tires to establish a unique race team and produce a feature-length documentary film appropriately titled "Chasing Baja." The documentary will feature the challenges of the race team, both on and off the course, and will include captivating footage of the chase team, pit crew and driver changes while showcasing BFGoodrich's newest light truck tire, the Mud-Terrain™ T/A^® KM2. Rock-crawling champion Tracy Jordan and television producer Bud Brutsman will team up with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racer erin Crocker and former Navy Seal Bill Weber as Team BFGoodrich Tires for the grueling 1,296-mile race.

Crocker, who has numerous USAC, ARCA, NASCAR Craftsman Truck and NASCAR Busch Series starts, will team with Jordan, while Brutsman, who is the creator and executive producer for "Celebrity Rides" and "Hot Rod TV" along with The Learning Channel's "Overhaulin" and "Rides" and has two Baja 1000 races in 2005 and 2006 to his credit, will swap driving duties with Weber. The teams of Brutsman-Weber and Crocker-Jordan will be competing in Baja Challenge Class buggies for the race and are among nearly 73 percent of the race teams in the SCORe Baja 1000 riding on BFGoodrich tires.

Crocker, from Wilbraham Mass., began her racing career at the tender age of seven in quarter-midget sprint cars. Over the course of her extensive career she has earned rides in the USAC, ARCA, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Busch Series. Weber, a retired Navy Seal turned off-road enthusiast, now works as a consultant for several off-road motorsports-related companies supporting vehicle development and training. He is also a guide for Wide Open Baja Adventure Tours and has two Baja 1000 victories to his credit. Jordan, a rock-crawling pioneer who holds several rock-crawling championship titles, is also an off-road racing veteran, having run the Baja 1000 in 2004 and 2006.

"Chasing Baja" will focus on the star-studded BFGoodrich Tires race team as it makes its way down the punishing, yet picturesque landscape of the Baja peninsula, November 10-16, 2007. BFGoodrich Tires, the official tire for SCORe International, has been an integral partner for more than 30 years, which makes their race team the perfect subject for this unique project.

Nearly 350 entries from more than 40 states and 15 countries, competing in 18 Pro and Sportsman classes for cars and trucks, plus additional classes for motorcycles and ATVs, will take part in this year's SCORe Baja 1000. It's the oldest and most well known of all desert races, and it remains the single most appealing accomplishment for any racer. Since 1967, the granddaddy of all desert races has been run over the mysterious Baja California peninsula every year except 1974, when the international fuel crisis forced a cancellation.
